Program

  • Day 1: Mora-Östersund

The family package starts in Mora, where you have the opportunity to explore Mora on your own. Our suggested activities include: take a swim in Lake Siljan and visit the ice cream boat, play mini-golf at Mora Camping. Take a trip to the Dala horse manufacturing in Nusnäs, visit Zorngården or the Vasalopp Museum. Inlandsbanan takes you from Mora to Östersund after lunch, and you arrive in Östersund in the evening. During the journey along Inlandsbanan, you will pass places like Storstupet and Helvetesfallet - two old log-driving sites where the train slows down so you can witness the spectacle of nature. There are plenty of wild animals in this area, especially moose and bears; if luck is on your side, you might catch a glimpse of them. Feel free to bring binoculars.

Maybe you long for a boat adventure with M/S Thomée and look for the big sea monster, or enjoy an ice cream in one of the citys' cafes. If you want to have a swim, we recommend going down to Surfbukten at Storsjön, here you can swim from bathing piers or jump from diving towers. In case of bad weather, take the opportunity to visit Multi Challenge, which offers everything from Boda-Borg challenges to go-karting and bowling.

  • Day 3: Östersund-Storulvån

Today, the journey begins early. The morning train departs from Östersund to Duved, passing through Åre along the way, offering a glimpse of Åreskutan before arriving in Duved. Upon arrival your transfer awaits, and you continue by bus to Storulvån, at the end of the road. Here, you stay at STF's mountain station Storulvån, situated in the midst of the mountain wilderness. Breathe in the mountain air and enjoy what nature has to offer.
Familiarize yourself with the facility, go for a hike – there are easy and more challenging trails for those with experience. If you fancy a swim, we recommend a dip in Stor-Ulvån, winding right outside the mountain station. Sauna facilities are available for those who get a bit chilly (remember to bring swimwear). If you need to buy provisions or rent equipment, there is a shop at the mountain station. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily for an additional fee.
